Sand System Expansion Positions Dotson for the Future

The recent sand system upgrade will result in noise reduction and a significant decrease in airborne dust within the foundry. These improvements not only provide a safer, cleaner and better work environment for everyone at Dotson, they also enhance Dotson’s ability to recruit and retain the next generation of foundry workers.

From an environmental standpoint, Dotson will eliminate almost 70% of the non-recyclable waste leaving its facility. It also reduces dependence on new sand resources furthering Dotson’s environmental stewardship efforts.

Finally, demand for foundry-grade sand is growing, especially for special applications such as fracking in the oil and gas industry. By reducing dependence on new sand resources, Dotson eliminates the potential risk of supply chain issues and enhances its ability to meet and exceed customer expectations.
